Virat Kohli 3 Runs Away From Breaking  Ponting’s Record In   World Cups

Virat Kohli has taken the World Cup 2023 by storm.

He is currently sitting at a total of 1741 runs in ODI World Cups from 2011 to 2023.

The Indian batter has put up these numbers in only 36 games.

Kohli is now just 3 runs shy of breaking Ricky Ponting’s all-time tally in the tournament.

Ponting scored 1743 runs in 46 World Cup games.

Surpassing Ponting will put Kohli in the second position on this list.

The first place is held by none other than Sachin Tendulkar.

The Master Blaster smashed 2278 runs in 45 World Cup matches.

Kohli can overtake Ponting in the 2023 World Cup final against Australia.

He will have the opportunity to outdo the Aussies in Ahmedabad on November 19.
